At the Glendale Community Preschool, we value and encourage parent participation. In 2007/08, we added a Teacher’s Assistant to our program to lessen the volunteer requirements of all preschool families. Parents should expect to volunteer in the classroom about five or six times a year, depending on class size and participate in one classroom clean up annually. The success of our programs, and the strength of our preschool community, is dependant on the energy, enthusiasm and committment of all families.
All parents are encouraged to become involved in our Preschool Parent Committee. This committee meets once every two months. There are a number of core and support positions that you may want to lend your time and talents to. Examples include: Preschool Chairperson (2 yr committment), Treasurer, Craft Assistant, Field Trip Co-ordinator and Playdough creator. The more energy and enthusiasm you are able to offer, the stronger our preschool community becomes. It’s also fun to make new friends too!
Parents are invited to volunteer for the various positions at the Annual General Meeting held each May. A full registration package is available for you to review and/or complete under the registration section of this site.
