Sample Cloud Readiness Assessment Report

Posted on

When companies are preparing for cloud-services deployment, they often seek the help of a third party vendor to prepare a sample Cloud Readiness Assessment Report (CRAR). This is a simplified version of what would be a full-Cloud Assessment. In this article, we’ll explain what CRARs are, how they can help and whom to contact if you need a Cloud Assessment report.

Cloud Readiness Assessment reports are designed to provide IT professionals a baseline measurement of a business’s current or future readiness to run public-cloud services. The term ‘cloud’ refers to the internet-based platform provided by a hosted service provider that allows users to access applications, data, and resources on the cloud while avoiding the expense and inconvenience of managing and maintaining their own infrastructure. The word ‘scale’ is used because a business may have hundreds or thousands of workloads that all require low-level access to applications and resources. Therefore it is important to identify the number and variety of workloads before proceeding. A Cloud Readiness Assessment Report will help provide a baseline from which the organization can identify its current readiness to move its workloads to the public cloud.

A Cloud Readiness Assessment Report identifies four critical areas of concern: customer satisfaction, technical infrastructure, operational efficiency, and system scalability. The report shows how your company is performing in each area. It can also help your business define the actions it needs to take to improve in any one of the four areas.

The first step towards getting the most value out of your Cloud Readiness Assessment is to ensure you have a structured process for collecting feedback from your stakeholders. This process could include a formal pre-annual survey that collects comments from your team members and other people associated with your business. Another option is to collect feedback directly from customers. One example would be to ask them to complete a short online survey. Another approach is to have your customer service department to conduct a survey either automatically or at random. Both methods will allow you to get valuable insights from the key stakeholders of your cloud-readiness assessment.

Your next step will be to create an assessment summary. You can do this by selecting the Overview of Benefits section from the Create Assessment Summary button on the Create Dashboard page. Your assessment summary should contain the summary of each of the four key benefits, which are listed below. They are respectively: “What advantages does the public cloud services provide my business?” “How will public cloud services benefit my customers?”

To provide a more thorough overview of the key stakeholders, you will combine the Overview and Assessment summary. Your cloud readiness assessment report then consists of two sections, one dealing with what cloud computing service and how it will benefit your business and one dealing with what your key stakeholders say about the service. The section provides some general information about what the service will provide to customers. The key stakeholders in this section are your IT staff and your customers. The Challenges section contains some challenges that your IT staff may face in implementing the computing technology.

The risks section provides three major factors that can impact your business if you choose to move your computing to the public cloud. It includes a discussion about security, compliance, and reliability. Each of these risk assessment tools has its own significance. Security threats cannot be entirely removed, but they can certainly be reduced through configuration. Compliance involves how you handle data securely, such as storing it in-house or transferring it within certain networks.

Providing this report to key employees, partners, and customers will help them understand the importance of implementing the technology. In addition, you can also use the assessment report to discuss the recommendations with each of these key stakeholders. The sample report also serves as a sort of informal discussion with your IT staff to familiarize them with the contents of the report. This way, they will know what they should discuss with their bosses and what risks might be involved if they decide to implement the changes.
